What would happen if every human suddenly disappeared?

Have you ever thought what have we done to this earth? Fouled oceans, overheated air, missing topsoil, and mass extinctions. Humans are the biggest destroyer on this earth. On the other hand, have you ever wondered what will happen if all humans suddenly disappeared? Thanos in Avengers Infinity War and Bertrand Zobrist in Dan Brown’s novel Inferno have tried to wiped out half of the world population. But, what if they decided to just wipe out the entire population? Isn’t it better?

The answer is, well maybe that is a terrible yet brilliant idea. Well, I surfed in the internet and I found a book called “The World Without Us” by Alan Weiman. There is also a TV show called “Life After People” in History Channel. Both offers an in depth look at a post-human earth. It is terrifying yet beautiful. But the full text goes into great detail about earth’s pre-human past to uncover what it’s post human future might look like.

Maybe most of us just realised that climate change is the biggest impact human have done to earth. However, there are many considered tiny things but actually as important as climate change. For example, in agriculture we change fruits like banana and watermelon from this, to this. Turn a forest into a metropolitan city, and a lot of great relief on cave and rock mountains. 

Then, what our planet would be like is humans suddenly disappeared? Would superfund sites revert to Gardens of Eden? Would the seas again fill with fish? Would our concrete cities crumble to dust from the force of tree roots, water, and weeds? And if we could answer such question, how long will it takes for earth to return to it’s pre-human state?

I will show you the timeline of what will happen after ‘the snap’. First, in just minutes, cars and buses will bump into each other, and planes will fall back to the ground. Then, oil refineries will go malfunction. The fire will start and after that the earth will goes dark for the first time in centuries. In a couple of days, drainage system will stop and flood the underground tunnels. After 1 to 3 weeks, the emergency generators in power plants have shut down. And then probably will be a nuclear meltdown at a plant that would result in tons of radioactive matter escaping into the air, water, or soil, causing radiation contamination worldwide.

Now, look at this cute little dog, well they will probably die soon after we disappear. Since they are domesticated, they can’t survive in the city without food supply. In just a few months, their distant cousins began to dominated the world again. Next, twenty years after human disappearance, sidewalks have been torn apart by weeds and three roots. Cracking pavement and foundations filled the city and flooded tunnels now turn into urban rivers.

Within 200 years, skyscrapers will buckle and tumble down including this building. And, this is the last part, 35.000 years after the snap, plant cycle will removes the last traces of humans and 20.000 years later the CO2 return to pre-human levels. Beautiful isn’t it?

Well, after knowing that the most important point is, we are nothing, the earth will be fine without us. Humans are like a toxic friend for earth we use this lovely planet for everything but look what have we done. The main thing to do is, of course take care of the earth and don’t harm this planet. Let the earth be as beautiful as without humans, after humans, and with humans.
